Position Overview:
A Braider Operator will be running a specific machine called a Braider, used to wrap and weave nylon webbing to produce protective covering for cables and wire harnesses. The cable is typically fed through the machine, which is controlled with a foot pedal for speed. Each cable can be up to 12 feet in length, and each machine may have up to 32 individual spools of nylon thread being fed through it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe and proficient operation of Braider machine
- Load cables into machine
- Replace spools of nylon thread as they are exhausted
- Oversee machine operations to ensure issues do not occur
- Maintain production control paperwork, checking parts for defects as they are produced
Requirements:
- Excellent hand/eye coordination is critical
- Ability to read tape measure to 1/16" measurement accurately
- Ability to read a basic blueprint
- Consistent attention to safety procedures
- Willingness to learn/cross train
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
