Position Overview:
Clean and Cap Operators are the final line of defense before a part is casted into metal. These operators work closely with the Engineering team to ensure the ceramic molds are in perfect condition before being filled with molten metal in our foundry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares ceramic molds for the foundry by following Engineering Specifications to patch and reinforce molds with mixed slurries using a brush.
- Operates drying and cleaning machines and automated dip machines.
- Applies thermal blanket materials to molds to enhance the quality of castings.
- Passionately works in a safe manner by following all safety rules, and providing recommendations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Achieves team production goals by working to meet all operational and quality standards to ensure a highly level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by manufacturing experience.
- One year of manufacturing experience preferred. Previous experience in the casting industry is a plus.
- Shop Math: Understanding of basic math calculations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform, duties in working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, multiple physical positions and other elements for extended periods of time.
