Job Overview
Join a leading manufacturer and distributor of aluminum, copper, and stainless steel foils and thin gauge metals. As a Coater Operator, you’ll play an essential role in the production process—running high-end machinery that applies inks and coatings to metal coils used across industries like aerospace, food packaging, HVAC, and automotive.
This is a contract-to-hire position with a long-term growth path. You’ll be part of a busy, safety-oriented shop where your attention to detail and mechanical interest can really shine.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate coating machines to apply inks and coatings to rolled metal substrates.
- Use a 2-ton hoist to load and unload coil materials.
- Assist in machine setup and learn how to perform adjustments over time.
- Monitor machines visually to ensure proper flow—report irregularities to a lead.
- Perform basic quality checks and verify production order specifications.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
- Keep machinery and work area clean and organized.
- Support team by jumping into other shop areas as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand English (verbal and written).
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to stand and move for the entire shift in varying temperatures.
- Willingness to work independently and not be micromanaged.
- Must be dependable with strong attendance.
- Comfortable handling odors and shop smells.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely using hoists and other tools.

- Jeans, t-shirt, and steel toe boots required.
- Once hired in, optional uniforms provided—shorts allowed.
- Earbud use is permitted (one ear only).
