Position Overview:
We are looking for a General Laborer to join our scrap yard team. The role involves operating a baler, managing a weigh scale, and interacting with vendors and truck drivers. This is a physically demanding position that requires climbing stairs and working in a dusty environment. Strong attention to detail, math skills, and excellent attendance are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a baler and weigh scale (training provided).
- Interact with vendors and truck drivers in a professional manner.
- Maintain organization and accurate records of weights and shipments.
- Climb stairs and work in a dusty environment.
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of steel-toe boots, helmet, and vest.
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in English (reading and writing).
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Must be dependable, with an excellent attendance record.
- Comfortable with heights and physically able to climb stairs.
- Ability to work in a scrap yard environment and handle different personalities.
- Must have own transportation.
