Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Spray Painter/Coater to prepare and coat steel surfaces in a spray booth environment. The role involves operating various tools, applying primers and paints, and ensuring the quality of the finished product. This is a contract-to-hire position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Spray Painter/Coater to prepare and coat steel surfaces in a spray booth environment. The role involves operating various tools, applying primers and paints, and ensuring the quality of the finished product. This is a contract-to-hire position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare steel surfaces by identifying dents or areas needing additional preparation.
- Mask parts, apply primer, and paint surfaces using a spray gun.
- Mix different paints and apply them accurately.
- Grind surfaces using handheld grinders when necessary.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move steel structures.
- Read and accurately interpret measuring devices (tape measures/rulers).
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
- Troubleshoot and ensure equipment is operating properly.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience using a spray gun (auto body experience preferred).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Steel toe boots required.
- Must pass a 5-panel drug screen. Felony cases considered on a case-by-case basis.
