Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Woodworking Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set to handle various maintenance tasks, ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Duties
This person will be responsible for operating woodworking equipment, building custom components, and ensuring machinery and facility systems operate efficiently. The ideal candidate has a balance of craftsmanship, troubleshooting expertise, and a proactive mindset.
· Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, routers, planers, and sanders.
· Measure, cut, and assemble wood and wood-based products accurately.
· Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications.
· Perform quality control inspections to ensure finished products meet standards.
· Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, tools, and building systems.
· Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repairs.
· Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
· Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
· Perform minor maintenance on woodworking tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certification preferred
· 3+ years' experience in woodworking, mechanical maintenance, or a related field
· Strong ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
· Familiarity with safety procedures and use of PPE in industrial settings
· Working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand for an extended period of time
· Ability to bend, kneel, and carry heavy objects
· Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at times
