Machine Operator Helper
Location: Cleveland, OH
Pay Rate: $21 per hour (increases to $23 upon hire)

Shift:
- Training: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM) for 2 weeks
- Permanent Shift: 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 4 PM – 12 AM)
- Overtime: Includes Saturdays as needed
Position Overview:
Join a globally recognized steel processing company with over 40 years of industry expertise. We are looking for a Machine Operator Helper to assist in steel slitting operations. This role offers hands-on training and opportunities for career growth in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist slitter operator with moving and wrapping pallets and staging rolls.
- Supply materials based on job requests.
- Move finished goods to designated staging areas.
- Load and unload materials onto the slitter machine.
- Inspect materials for defects such as tears and inconsistencies.
- Measure slit widths using a ruler or tape measure to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues.
- Perform general clean-up duties and assist in other shop areas as needed.
- Operate a sit-down propane or electric tow motor (training provided for overhead crane use).
Requirements:
- Tow motor experience required (sit-down propane and electric).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Manufacturing experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Must pass a 10-panel drug screen and have no felonies (misdemeanors are acceptable).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to interpret work orders.
- Basic knowledge of measuring tools (ruler, tape measure) and attention to detail.
- Dress Code: Steel-toe boots, gloves, and safety goggles required.
