Wire Cutter – Manufacturing | Contract-to-Hire | $16/hr + Shift Differential
Position Overview
A leading contract electronics manufacturer is seeking a Wire Cutter to join its team. This role involves cutting and stripping wire using an automated wire cutting machine, ensuring precise measurements, and maintaining high-quality production standards. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with company growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a wire cutting machine according to detailed work instructions.
- Monitor machine operations and inspect wire using micrometers to ensure accuracy.
- Handle wire spools weighing up to 40 lbs and maintain accurate production records.
- Follow all safety regulations and adhere to strict no cell phone policies on the floor.
- Work effectively with an older workforce and maintain a professional, team-oriented approach.
Qualifications
- 12+ months of machine operation or manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to read a ruler and understand basic measurements (1/16").
- Blueprint reading, micrometer, and caliper knowledge preferred (training available).
- Must be comfortable standing for entire shifts.
- No steel-toe boots required, but closed-toe shoes, jeans, and t-shirts are appropriate.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check (case-by-case felony consideration).
Shift & Pay
- First Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
- Second Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (+$1/hr shift differential)
- Pay: $16/hr + shift differential
- Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch + two 10-minute paid breaks
