What You’ll Do
You’ll handle both set-up and operation for CNC mills and lathes in a small, hands-on shop producing custom metal parts for a variety of industries (appliance, aerospace, HVAC, electrical). Your day will include:
Reading blueprints and selecting the correct tooling for each job.
Performing set-ups; making necessary machine offsets/adjustments.
Running first-article parts and verifying dimensions before production.
Monitoring jobs in process and changing out tooling and wear items as needed.
Using micrometers and calipers to inspect parts to spec.
Performing basic preventive maintenance and keeping a clean, organized work area.
Collaborating with the shift supervisor to troubleshoot issues and keep work flowing.
Success Profile
This role is a good fit if you:
Have 1–2 years of CNC set-up experience (mills and/or lathes) in manufacturing.
Read blueprints confidently and work well with gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
Bring solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Can work in a loud, fast-moving shop; stand for long periods; and lift up to 40 lbs.
Are a team player who’s comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Value a laid-back but accountable environment where quality and safety matter.
Work Environment
You’ll join a tight-knit team on a busy production floor making custom, made-to-order parts—not high-volume commodity work. The pace is steady, the work is detailed, and the team takes pride in getting parts right the first time. Safety is a daily priority, and you’ll have the tools and PPE you need to do the job well.
