Job Type: Full-time, Contract-to-Hire (600 hours)

Great Lakes Cheese offers a variety of shifts to fit your schedule.
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Monday–Friday)
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Monday–Friday) or 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Sunday–Thursday)
12-Hour Rotating Shifts:
A Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
B Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
C Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
D Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Starting Pay: $18.00/hour
Potential pay increases up to $23/hour upon hire
Contract-to-hire after 600 hours
Weekly pay with direct deposit

? Job Responsibilities
As a Bulk Cheese Handler / Line Attendant, you’ll be a key part of the production team focused on delivering high-quality dairy products. Responsibilities include:
Preparing, labeling, and packaging cheese products
Operating machinery safely and efficiently
Conducting regular quality checks per customer specifications
Performing routine cleaning and sanitation of work area and equipment
Communicating order details with team members
Palletizing and preparing products for shipping
Maintaining accurate production records and performing basic data entry
Using equipment such as handheld scanners and pallet jacks
Supporting the team by rotating into other roles as needed
✅ Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs frequently as a bulk cheese handler
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently as a line attendant
Comfortable working in a cool environment (50–60°F)
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Basic computer/data entry skills helpful
Must be able to read and understand production reports and safety procedures
Willing to comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Must wear slip-resistant shoes—company provides PPE including hairnets, safety glasses, and earplugs
Must pass 10-panel drug screen and background check
? Work Environment & Culture
This is a fast-paced, clean, and highly regulated food production environment. The team emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency. Employees are cross-trained to ensure flexibility and support during production. Orientation is thorough and includes a 1 day training period. Strict dress code is enforced—no jewelry, hooded sweatshirts, or personal electronics on the production floor.
