Job Description
Position Overview:
We are looking for a General Laborer to assist in various warehouse and customer service tasks at a busy metal supply company. The role involves helping the saw operator, maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse, greeting customers, loading vehicles, and making local deliveries. This is a contract-to-hire position with room for growth and training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the saw operator and learn to operate a band saw
- Measure and cut materials; must be comfortable reading a tape measure
- Perform general warehouse cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, wiping down equipment)
- Greet customers and load their vehicles with products
- Occasionally make local deliveries (valid driver’s license required)
- Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Requirements:
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Some prior warehouse experience is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a small shop environment
- Steel-toe boots required; safety glasses, gloves, and masks provided
