Rubber Laboratory Worker
Job Summary
The Rubber Lab Worker supports laboratory operations in the testing, preparation, and evaluation of rubber compounds and materials. This role involves assisting with quality control, conducting physical and chemical tests, recording results, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare rubber samples and compounds for laboratory testing
- Perform routine physical tests such as hardness, tensile strength, elongation, and viscosity
- Assist in mixing, curing, and processing rubber materials for evaluation
- Operate laboratory equipment including presses, mixers, ovens, and testing machines
- Record test results accurately and maintain organized documentation
- Support research and development efforts for new rubber formulations
- Monitor quality control procedures and report any defects or irregularities
- Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and proper storage of lab tools and chemicals
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials
- Assist lab technicians or chemists with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing or laboratory experience preferred
- Basic understanding of rubber materials or polymer testing is a plus
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting results
- Comfortable working with machinery, chemicals, and lab environments

Work Environment
- Laboratory and manufacturing setting

Schedule, Pay & Employment Details
- Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday
- Pay Rate: $22.13 per hour
- Union Position
- This role will transition to a full-time union position after 6 weeks of employment
- Occasional overtime may be required based on production needs
