Company Overview:
Focused in short-run and custom Stamping and Fabrication, this east side of Cleveland organization has over 125 different machines while serving dozens of different industries. Position Overview:
The Set-Up Operator will be responsible for the full set-up and production run of various sized single hit punch presses. Duties will include press operation, visual inspection, and safety checks. Additionally, Set-Up Operators will perform basic performance maintenance of equipment between jobs to ensure they are ready to be used for the next job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate position and alignment of dies in machines
- Produce and qualify first piece with support from QC Technician
- Set and adjust clamps, rods. Assemble nests.
- Visually inspect parts and isolate non-conforming parts
- Ensure safety procedures are followed consistently
Requirements:
- Proven experience setting up a single hit punch press
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Basic Quality tool proficiency - micrometers and calipers
- Experience with thinner metals (1/4" or less) highly preferred
- Basic understanding of metal types
