Job Title: Slitter Operator
Location: Cleveland, OH – East Side
Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Type: Contract-to-Hire

Starting Pay: $23–$26/hour (based on experience)
Contract-to-hire with pay increase upon permanent hire

This is a tight-knit team with strong leadership and a family-like atmosphere. Recently acquired and undergoing major upgrades, this steel processing facility is located on Cleveland’s East Side. The company specializes in precision slitting of cold-rolled steel, stainless, aluminum, titanium, and carbon—all sourced directly from mills.

Job Responsibilities
As a Slitter Operator, you will play a key role in preparing steel coils for various industries including agriculture and manufacturing. Responsibilities include:
Set up and operate slitting machines for heavy-gauge steel
Load coils onto the machine using an overhead crane or tow motor
Install and align spacers and cutters on the shaft/arbor
Make adjustments for accurate slitting based on specifications
Inspect material for surface defects, holes, and damage
Use precision measuring tools (tape measure, calipers) to verify tolerances
Separate scrap and maintain a clean, organized workstation
Calibrate and maintain measuring and slitting equipment
Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of machinery
Lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs as needed
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous experience operating slitter or similar machinery preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Familiar with blueprints and technical drawings
Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable operating tow motors and overhead cranes
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Steel toe boots required
